John Healey MP to lead Labour’s campaign in the South East

Southern Front can reveal that John Healey MP is to lead Labour’s election campaign in the south east in the run up to May’s local elections. Earlier this month Southern Front was able to disclose that Ed Balls has been asked to fulfill a similar role in the east of England.

Shadow Health Secretary John Healey told SouthernFront: “I am delighted to have been asked to lead Labour’s campaign for the South East.”

“Labour’s road back to Government must pass through the South East of England. To earn the right to govern again we’re going to have win back seats like Milton Keynes, Reading and Hove, and also Gravesham where I visited last week. People across the South East – and the south more widely - need to know Labour is listening to their concerns and that we want to help them realise their aspirations. They need to know we’re on their side.”

  1. I agree. Does that include Winchester, as well?

  2. Does anyone know who will be fronting for the South West? And what area the South West will include? - Darren Cowell (Torbay)

  3. Southern Front is trying to find out who from the shadow cabinet will lead the campaign in the south west. Torbay is part of the south west so whoever leads the campaign will be leading our efforts there, too.

Winchester, in Hampshire, is part of the south east and so your campaign is being led by John Healey.
